When the summer day is over, and the busy bee has flown”

What an appropriate line from our most famous song Ellen Vannin which some people think that this is the Manx National Anthem.  The weather has changed, summer has gone and the bees are harvesting the last of my lavender.  The skies are darkening and the heather which was glorious purple is starting to lose its colour.

The Island has many moods and both amateur and professional photographers catch these ranging  from bright summer days  to dark and stormy seas.  Words are no substitute for the actual experience of being here.

Oh and by the way our national anthem is “Oh Land of Our Birth” – which was never performed by the Bee Gees !
